In the workplace, when someone comes to you while you're at your desk you should always stop your activity, turn to face them (physically rotate your body) and make eye contact. The worst thing you can do is to continue to face your PC and type/click while they're talking, even if you're listening to them.

It's hard to save, but it's something you must absolutely do.

If possible, the easiest way is to redirect your pay as it comes to you. If you're paid electronically, either have you employer put 10% of your pay into a separate account, or create an automatic transfer with your bank that happens the day after pay day. As an ex-Sandwich Artist for Subway, please follow this tip!

When your Sandwich Artist asks you, "what salads would you like on that?" the worst thing you can do is:

"Lettuce." (wait for lettuce to be applied)
"Onion." (wait for onion to be applied)
"Tomato." (wait for tomato to be applied)
etc.

It's slow, and annoys the hell out of the Sandwich Artist. Please please please list all...
