One of our main goals for this site is to reduce the amount of "learning from your own mistakes" as you go through life. For example, let's say you're buying a used car. If this is your first time buying one, there's a fair amount of research you have to do. Some of it is obvious, such as "get a Carfax report", and some is a little harder to find, such as "you have to check the paint - if it's irregular, the car has been repainted and most likely has been in an accident."
